Lena went to sleep on Monday night and woke up in heaven in the loving arms of her Savior on Tuesday, January 16, 2024.
She’s also having a glorious reunion with her loving husband, Earl, of 67 years and her son, Steve, who preceded her in death. She’s also reunited with her mom and dad and six siblings.
Lena was born January 13, 1925 near Loraine, Texas to Otha Curry and Maude Taylor Curry.
Lena married the love of her life, Earl Carlton Haddock, Jr. on September 13, 1944.
She was very talented. In her early years she was an excellent seamstress, making all her daughters clothes, even their wedding dresses. She loved all kinds of crafting, including painting and owned a ceramic shop in Austin for several years. She also loved her Bible Studies and being involved in church. She also loved gardening and she and dad loved traveling during his retirement years.
She cherished her family. Daughters: Janice Bint and Faye Engelke and son, Stephen Haddock. Son-in-laws: Leon Bint and Larry Engelke. Her four grandchildren: Stacy, Kristi, Jennifer (&Kari), Eric (&Lisa). Her twelve great-grandchildren: Emily, Abby, Jake, Eric, Shawn, Kiera, Ethan, Austin, Lauren, Kip, Kori and Lane.
Lena’s Celebration of Life Service is Monday, January 22, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. with a reception for family to follow at Lake Church.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Samaritan Purse.
