On September 23, 1956 in Los Angeles, California, Lee Anzo Smith, Jr. or “Buddy” (as he was affectionately called) was born to Lee Anzo Sr. and Margie Smith. He was the oldest of six children.
Lee began and completed his formal education in the Los Angeles Unified School District. After graduating from Westchester High School, he attended El Camino College and Trade Technical College with an interest in welding.
Buddy was a hard worker and had a good work ethic, which is something he learned from his Dad. He was a generous person. Even though he was not always able to give as he would've liked, when he could, he would.
Lee “Buddy” was innovative. Once when working for a copper company in Texas, he came up with an idea to help with productivity. His idea was implemented and the company increased productivity and ran more efficiently because of it. He also had a God given ability to draw. After entering into a drawing contest given by the local newspaper, Buddy's work caught the attention of a cartoonist who was very impressed with his talent.
He was into martial arts, but was a gentle and humble man, and he wasn't too proud to adhere to sound advice even if the advice was coming from someone younger than himself.
Lee “Buddy” left this world on April 6, 2020 at the age of 63. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lee Anzo, Sr. and Margie Smith. He leaves to cherish his memories five siblings: Nora, Rose (Joshua), Avis, Valerie, and Christopher; seven nephews and nieces; Floyd II, Lee (Natalie), Charmaine, Trishena, Britney, Miles, and Eric; and a host of other relatives and friends.
