ARLINGTON -- Laura Cruz Killough Ferguson, 93, passed away Sunday, Oct. 16, 2016, in Arlington.
Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Wade Family Funeral Home, 4140 W. Pioneer Parkway, Arlington.
Laura was born March 3, 1923, in Fort Worth. She is the daughter of John Bladden Ferguson and Lilly Agnes Killough (who was born in the Oklahoma region). Laura attended Paschal High School and Texas Woman's University.
She married Donald Raymond Ritchey during World War II and had two sons, John and Charles Ritchey. Laura worked for General Motors.
She later met and married Forest K. Chapman and had two more sons, George and Frank Chapman.
Laura was an active member of the Fort Worth Garden Club, Order of Eastern Star OEG 681, and First United Methodist Church in Arlington. She grew a victory garden during World War II. She loved flowers, crocheting, crafts, reading and crossword puzzles. Above all, she loved reading her Bible (Psalms and John 3:16).
Laura was preceded in death by her sister, Betty Golden; and her son, John James Ritchey.
Survivors: Sons, Charles Ritchey (Janet), Frank Chapman (Kathy) and George Chapman; and grandchildren, Collette, Rodney and Brian Ritchey.
