Lana Sue Hasty

Lana Sue Hasty, long time resident of Arlington, Texas, passed away on March 13, 2024 at the age of 75. She was a loving and generous sister to her brother Gary and his sons, Aaron and Preston Hasty. Lana valued her family above all else and was cherished by her immediate family as well as many cousins, aunts and uncles who loved and appreciated her quick wit and sense of humor.

Lana was born on December 28, 1948 in Altus, Oklahoma, which is still home to many of her close relatives. She moved to Texas at age 6 and called Arlington home from 1965 to the rest of her life. She was a 1967 graduate of Arlington High School. In 2009, she retired from Lone Star Gas Company to selflessly care for her elderly parents, Preston and Exa Fern Hasty, who preceded her in death in 2018. She was also preceded in death by long-time companion and friend John Swafford, who also passed away in 2018.

Known for her fondness of Elvis, Lana could often be found with fellow fans who enjoyed trips to Graceland and attending impersonator events featuring his music. She loved to gamble and knew how to make the most of her trips to Choctaw Casino with friends and relatives. She was always up for good conversation and laughs over a glass of wine or margarita with extra salt. She was also known to bake delicious cakes for special occasions, including for her beloved family dogs!

Her family, friends and loved ones will gather to celebrate Lana’s life at her funeral service, where they will reflect on the many cherished moments and memories shared together.

Lana is survived by her brother Gary and wife Denice Hasty, nephews Preston, Aaron and wife Jenessa, grandnephew Kaysen and numerous cousins in Oklahoma, Texas and Tennessee.

Lana’s lively spirit and joy for life endeared her to all who knew her and enjoyed her company. Rest in His Peace, Lana Sue Hasty. Your laughter and love will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing you.

Family and friends are invited to attend visitation services from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Wednesday, March 20, 2024 at Wade Funeral Chapel.

Funeral services will be at 12:00 pm, Thursday, March 21, 2024 at the funeral home.

Graveside services will be at Parkdale Cemetery in Arlington at 2:00 pm following the funeral service on Thursday.
