LaJuana Jean Weldon Kettler passed away peacefully on January 24, 2024 in Arlington, Texas. She was 77 years of age.
LaJuana was born on April 30, 1946 in Hollis, OK to the late G.W. and Irlene Weldon. She was a 1964 graduate of Shamrock High School in Shamrock, Texas where she grew up. After graduation, LaJuana went on to attend nursing school. She also spent time as a certified shorthand reporter and an at-home nail technician.
It was at a Texas Rangers game in 1975 that LaJuana met Jimmy R. Kettler. They were united in holy matrimony December 10, 1976, at Grace Lutheran Church in Arlington, Texas and they remained dedicated members there for over 40 years. Over the years, Jim and LaJuana enjoyed watching many more Rangers games together, going to first Monday trade days in Canton, taking daily walks, and just simply enjoying the small things in life together. One of the things they especially loved doing together was listening to 60’s music. They did this every day. LaJuana remembered a lot of the songs or she would just hum the tune.
LaJuana dedicated her life to serving her children and her grandchildren. When LaJuana wasn’t chasing around one of her grandkids, you could find her reading a book or sitting in front of her sewing machine. She was most known for making Christmas pajamas tagged with her brand “Loving Stitches by Grammy”.
LaJuana was preceded in death by her mother, Irlene Weldon and father, G.W. Weldon.
LaJuana is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 47 years, Jimmy R. Kettler; Sons: Trey McAlister and Adrian Kettler; Daughter: Kecia Alamo, 5 Granddaughters: Brianna, Tianna, Yasmine, Marin, Kristen; 7 great-grandchildren, 2 brothers, 2 sisters, and a host of other family members whom she loved so much.
