ARLINGTON -- L.D. Mayo, 67, passed away Monday, Nov. 25, 2013, in Fort Worth.
Funeral: 11 a.m. Tuesday at Tate Springs Baptist Church, 4201 Little Rd., Arlington, Dr. Chris Shirley and the Rev. Bart McDonald officiating. Interment: 1:15 p.m. in Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, Dallas, Lane B. Visitation: The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Wade Family Funeral Home, 4140 W. Pioneer Parkway, Arlington.
L.D. was born on July 13, 1946, in Amarillo. He was an active member of Tate Springs Baptist Church and served as a deacon for many years. L.D. was a Vietnam era veteran and served in the U.S. Air Force. He retired as a U.S. Postal Service carrier. L.D. was a real estate broker and owned L.D. Mayo Real Estate. He loved golf and enjoyed travel, hunting and fishing.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mary Maggaline Carter Mayo and William Joseph Mayo; and a sister, Sharon Jean Green.
Survivors: Wife, Sharon Noah Mayo; son, Charles Matthew Mayo and wife, Ellie; daughter, Laura Lee Russell and husband, James; sister, Wanda Fuller; brother, Robert Michael Mayo; grandchildren, Blake, Isabel, Riley, and soon Rachel; and many extended family members.
