Kregg Steven Jokisch

October 30, 1959 — April 17, 2018

Kregg Jokisch went home to be our Lord Jesus Christ Tuesday April 17, 2018, after a long and courageous battle with brain cancer. He leaves a loving wife, Melissa Allen, and her son Josh, and numerous family and friends. Kregg was the youngest of the three children of Marilynn and Lou Jokisch. He was born and grew up mostly in Arlington, but lived in and attended schools in Seattle, WA, Burbank, CA and Amarillo, TX. He graduated from Arlington High School in 1978. Kregg was a dedicated production manager for more than 27 years at Texas Sportwear, where he forged a lifelong professional and personal friendship with owner Tim Bull. He started his printing career at the Arlington Citizen Journal in the late 1970's, and worked at several other screen printing companies before establishing himself at Texas Sportswear. Kregg's fondest early memories were our family trips to visit and enjoy our cousins, aunts and uncles in Amarillo and Canyon, TX and the Jokisch family farm in Illinois. Kregg was a loving family man, providing for Melissa and Josh. He loved frequenting and cheering for Josh's sporting activities. He and Melissa had been attending Grace Street Fellowship Church, where his lifelong childhood friend Jim Burgin ministers. Kregg loved and closely followed sports, especially Pro Football. He has a signed Tom Landry Dallas Cowboys picture prominently displayed . He loved motorsports and fast cars, and has owned 2 different V-8 Mustangs, a 1968 Impala Hotrod and an Opel GT. He learned and loved to snow ski when the family lived in Washington. He and Melissa enjoyed skiing several times in New Mexico. Kregg was a big hearted man, always willing to help any of his friends in need, whether helping them financially or letting them stay at his home until they got back on their feet. He is survived by his wife of 13 years, Melissa Allen and her son Joshua Russell, father Lou Jokisch, brother Keith Jokisch and his wife Sheryl, sister Karla Sanders and her husband Dave, nephews Chase Griffin, James Oneill, Ben Jokisch, Chris Jokisch, and neices Jennifer Owens, Sarah Goodman, and his aunts Korkye Purviance, Jean Jokisch and his uncle John Jokisch, 6 cousins and many dear friends. Funeral will be at Grace Street Fellowship Church, 1516 W Pioneer Pkwy, Arlington, Saturday April 21 at 11:30 am, Internment at Moore Memorial Gardens, Arlington, following the service. Visitation will be at Wade Family Funeral Home, 4140 W Pioneer Pkwy, Arlington, Friday April 20, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. Wade Family Funeral Home 817-274-9233
