The family of Kenneth W. Christopherson wish to announce his death on March 24, 2024. He transferred from life on earth to life in eternity with the Lord at the age of 101. Ken was born in Fosston, Minnesota on February 9, 1923.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Jenny Christopherson, two brothers; Elmer and Clifford, three sisters; Ruby, Viola, and Lucille; and three children, Anna, Marcia and Dario; granddaughter, Tonja; his daughter-in-law, Debbie; and the wife of his youth, Hannah Lee (VanArsdale).
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Trinidad (Landa); sons, William (Becky), Joseph (Laura), and Thomas; daughters, Lona Lee, and Leticia Rubi (Don). He is also survived by 18 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, and 9 great, great grandchildren.
Ken served his country during WWII as a combat medic in the European theater and following his military service he attended Bible College after which he was called to take his young family to Michoacan Mexico to establish clinics and churches in small villages utilizing his medical and ministry training.
His many careers as a father and provider culminated as he taught high school and community college students the heating/air conditioning trades in Houston. Ken was an artisan at heart which led him to perfect his skills to make pens and other wood engravings. He stood by his lathe and engraver as a 100 year old man.
Ken will be missed by his family and friends as he made a significant impact on people’s lives throughout his lifetime. Only in heaven will the full extent of his impact on the Kingdom of God be known. Many people came to put their faith in Jesus Christ as he preached the Gospel in the places his Missionary journey called him. Many friends and students’ lives were improved as the result of knowing Ken in his lifetime.
He will be sorely missed by his family as they grieve his passing with the full knowledge that Ken rests in the presence of the Lord he served. “O death, where is your victory? O death, where is your sting?” (I Corinthians 15:55); The Bible assures us that “Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His godly ones.” (Psalm 116:15)
