ARLINGTON -- Kenneth Edward Marsh Jr., 75, passed away Saturday, Jan. 30, 2016, in Arlington.
Funeral: 10 a.m. Thursday, Wade Family Funeral Home, 4140 W. Pioneer Pkwy., Arlington. Interment: Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Kenneth "Pop" was born September 18, 1940 in St. Louis, MO to Kenneth E. Marsh Sr. and Alta Bell Marsh. He was the first of seven children raised in a house his father had built.
After graduation from Mehlville High School, he enlisted in the United States Army in 1958. Ken served two tours in Vietnam, and a tour in Japan and Thailand. He spoke vietnamese fluently. Ken served under commands in military intelligence, medical and recruitment.
After retiring in 1983, he began a career with the United States Postal Service in Dallas as a mail handler and later, he worked with the postal inspectors unit. Upon his retirement, he worked as a bond agent.
Ken holds degrees in Accounting and Psychology.
Ken "Pop"was a hardworking man loved by all. Anywhere he went, he was known. Ken took time to learn everyone's name and always paid attention to details of their lives.
He, through his example, taught many others how to be a husband, father, grandfather and friend.
Ken was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, JoAnn, Clyde "Wayne", and Helen.
Survivors: Wife, Manuela Marsh of Texas; Children, Mark Marsh of Alaska, Curtis Marsh, Kim Marsh and Lidia Harris, all of Texas; siblings, Lester Marsh of Missouri, Kristie Marsh Holtmann of Arizona, and Ronnie Marsh of Missouri; grandchildren, Erica Goodloe of Nevada, Natasha Marsh of Texas, Aarron Marsh of North Carolina, Cori Breckenridge of Texas, Clay Breckenridge of Texas, Emanuel Harris III of Texas, Hunter Marsh of Texas, and Emmerie Harris of Texas; and numerous great-grandchildren.
