Kendra Lane Baker

September 6, 1982 — December 20, 2023

Kendra Lane Baker, age 41, passed away on December 20, 2023 at her home in Bedford, Texas. A visitation for Kendra will be held on Saturday, February 3 at 1:00 PM at Wade Family Funeral Home, 4140 W. Pioneer Pkwy, Arlington, TX 76013 and a Memorial Service will follow at 2:00 PM.

Kendra was born on September 6, 1982 in Waco, Texas to Deborah Kay Oakley and Kenneth G Baker. She attended school through ninth grade at Groesbeck ISD and finished high school at Spoon River Valley High School in Maquon, Illinois. She went on to attend Spoon River Valley College and Cosmetology School.

Kendra was an outstanding basketball and volleyball player and received recognition and awards through the years beginning when she was a young child. She loved white sand beaches and clear running rivers and she always had a special place in her heart for the Frio River. Most of all, Kendra loved her family and friends and was totally loyal with no judgment. To know her was to love her.

Kendra was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Grady and Dorothy Baker and maternal grandparents Kenneth and Mary Oakley. Her big brother Luke Baker also passed on November 9, 2019.

She is survived by her parents Debi Oakley and Ken and Beth Baker; brother Jared Baker and his wife Natalie and their children; step-sister Sonya Mitchell and her husband Marshall Mitchell and their children and grandchildren; and step-brother Lance Kirby and his wife Patti and their children. She is also survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins who always loved Kendra and she loved them all. Her aunt Karyl Butler has always been special to Kendra and she went into cosmetology because of Karyl. Cousin Lauren York and Kendra grew up together and often were more like sisters than cousins. Last, but certainly not least to Kendra, she is survived by her beloved K-9 sister Anchor. She would forever be grateful to Rene’ Beth for adopting her.

Although Kendra loved flowers, the family asks that you consider a gift to your church or to a local no-kill animal shelter in Kendra’s name.
