Keith Rogers Marsh, 95, of Colleyville, Texas passed away peacefully into the arms of his Savior on Tuesday morning October 18, 2022. Keith was born August 11, 1927 in Vernon, Texas to Dewey and Augusta Marsh. He grew up in Chillicothe with his older brother Dewey and younger brother Bill.
He volunteered for service in the Navy in 1945 and served for almost four years. After an honorable discharge from the Navy, he used his GI Bill benefits to pay for college. He attended the University of Texas and graduated in less than three years with a degree in Aeronautical Engineering. He distinguished himself by achieving the highest GPA in Engineering, an honor that he held for several decades.
Keith and Betty Jo Holmes from LaGrange, Georgia met in Dallas while she was visiting her brother. They quickly fell in love and she never returned to Georgia. Within 2 months, they were engaged and married on March 8, 1955. They lived in Arlington until they moved to Colleyville in 1984. They were married for 59 years until her passing in February 2014. Keith adored Betty and missed her tremendously every day.
They were always involved in church, most recently First Baptist Church of Colleyville, where he served as a deacon for many years.
As a Professional Engineer, he worked in Aerospace Engineering at the same company through retirement in 1989. He started BKM & Associates following retirement and worked almost full-time designing foundations until March 2022.
He was well known in Colleyville as the man that wore jeans while running and riding his bike. He never met a stranger and everyone that knew him loved and respected him.
Keith and Betty had three children: Ellen Rankin married to Tim, Laura Whittington married to J. Lee, and Kyle Marsh married to Kelly.
Affectionately known as Papa and Meme, Keith and Betty had eleven grandchildren: Ashley, Jennifer (Lamar), Whitney (Jenson), Justin (Shannon), Jordan(James), Kyndra (Bobby), Tanner (Kim), Leasha (Geoffrey), Janelle, Kayla and Madison; as well as 25 great grandchildren that they absolutely adored.
He loved his family and he never ended a visit without letting them know how proud he was of them. He remembered each of their birthdays, and affectionately continued to sign their birthday cards with: “Love Meme and Papa.”
