Keith Ballard Stanton

Keith Ballard Stanton, born on September 8, 1960, in Dallas, Texas, passed away peacefully on July 1, 2024, in Arlington, Texas.

Keith was a devoted family man who loved working on his farm in Whitney, Texas, where he tended to his cattle, goats, and garden. Inherited from his family, the property was his sanctuary, a place he cherished and visited on weekends to escape the hustle and bustle of life. Keith’s love for his farm was deeply rooted in his childhood memories, particularly the time he spent there with his grandfather. From a young age, Keith learned the intricacies of farming, the art of fixing things, and invaluable life lessons from his grandfather. This cherished time shaped his passion for the land and his dedication to maintaining it. The farm was not just a place of work for Keith; it was a sanctuary filled with fond memories and life-shaping experiences. His connection to the farm symbolized the bond he shared with his grandfather and the lessons that guided him throughout his life.

An avid outdoorsman, Keith enjoyed camping, hunting, and fishing. For many years, he held a deer lease, which brought him great joy and countless memories. Keith’s love for the outdoors was something he shared with his daughters, teaching them many life lessons along the way.

A true handyman, Keith had an incredible ability to fix anything and took great pride in doing so. He passed on this knowledge to his daughters, involving them in many projects over the years. Never one to sit still for long, Keith was always tinkering, always finding something to repair or improve.

Keith met the love of his life, Joyce, at a Western store in Irving, where they both worked. They married at 19 while sophomores in college, beginning a journey filled with love, laughter, and companionship. Keith’s reserved yet playful nature meant he always had a joke or a trick up his sleeve, bringing joy and laughter to those around him.

As a protector and mentor, Keith instilled confidence and intelligence in his daughters, encouraging them to take on challenges and try new things. Professionally, he spent many years in civil engineering and surveying, working alongside Joyce for two decades. His support and encouragement were a cornerstone of their partnership.

Keith is preceded in death by his parents, Norma Jean Stanton and Elbert Stanton. He is survived by his loving wife, Joyce; daughters Jennifer Stanton Ortiz (Johann) and Madelyn Stanton; brothers Blake Stanton (Gayle) and Troy Stanton (Juliette); and sister Valerie Weiss (Lee).

A Remembrance Gathering will be held on July 19, 2024, from 6-8 p.m. at Wade Funeral Home and Crematory. A Celebration of Life service will follow on July 20, 2024, at 3 p.m. at the same location.
