Keith Allen, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and devoted wife, passed away peacefully on November 30, 2024, at the age of 89. Born on March 31, 1935, in Lubbock, Texas, Keith’s warmth, grace, and love left an indelible mark on everyone she encountered.
On July 15, 1955, Keith married the love of her life, Richard J. Allen, beginning a beautiful journey together that spanned nearly seven decades. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and faith in Pantego, Texas, where they created countless cherished memories.
A dedicated homemaker and involved parent, Keith took great pride in supporting her children, Rick Allen and Laura Conway, as they grew. Whether serving as an active PTA member during their school years or nurturing a community spirit, Keith exemplified care and commitment.
Keith was a woman of vision and creativity. Alongside her dear friend Evelyn Hellier, she founded the Saint Alban’s Bookstore, creating a beloved gathering space for literature and spirituality. Together, they also introduced James Avery jewelry to the area, enriching the lives of countless neighbors with their efforts.
Keith was also a woman of faith, serving as the church secretary for many years. Her dedication to her church family was unwavering, and her organizational skills and cheerful spirit left an enduring impact on the community she served.
In addition to her faith-driven work, Keith had a heart for service. She volunteered at Arlington Memorial Hospital for an incredible 26 years, dedicating 3,459 hours to helping others in their times of need. Her tireless commitment to the hospital community reflected her deep compassion and desire to make a difference.
Keith's legacy of love extends to her family, who were her greatest joy. She is survived by her son, Rick Allen, and his wife, Karen; her daughter, Laura Conway, and her late husband, Gary Conway; and her cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Trevor Hammett and his wife, Meagan, with their children Ella, Mason, Emily, and Nolan; Brittany Miera and her husband, Geoff, with their children Natalie, Elijah, Isaac, and Elizabeth; Morgan Moore and her husband, Lee, with their children Harvey, Oliver, and Hazel.
Keith's kindness, strength, and unwavering faith will continue to inspire all who were fortunate to know her. She leaves behind a legacy of love, friendship, and community that will be cherished for generations.
A celebration of Keith’s life will take place on Monday, December 16, 2024, at 10:00 AM at Saint Alban’s Anglican Church, located at 911 S Davis Dr, Arlington, TX 76013. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in her memory to the Wounded Warrior Project or the Tunnel to Towers Foundation, honoring Keith’s lifelong commitment to giving back.
Keith Allen’s life was a testament to love, service, and faith. Though her presence will be deeply missed, her light will forever shine in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
