ARLINGTON -- Kathryne Cox Barnes, 97, passed away Sunday, Aug. 19, 2012.
Funeral: 11 a.m. Thursday at Wade Family Funeral Home, 4140 W. Pioneer Parkway, Arlington, with Dr. Eugene Robertson officiating. Interment: private family burial in Thorndale. Visitation: The family will receive friends 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday.
Kathryne was born Sept. 5, 1914, in Bryan to Joseph MacDaniel and Neva Power Cox. She was raised in Austin and graduated from Austin High School and the University of Texas. She married her husband, Lyngle Dudley Barnes Jr., in 1940 and they moved to Thorndale to raise their family.
Kathryne enjoyed traveling the world and visited all the continents, except Antarctica.
She was preceded in death by her husband.
Survivors: Sons, Lyngle Dudley Barnes III and wife, Ann, of Arlington and Joe Brent Barnes and wife, Brenda, of Arlington; grandchildren, Julie Nors and husband, Matthew, of Keller, Brad Barnes and wife, Claudia, of Keller, Kelly Fulton and husband, Robert, of Arlington and Lindsey Blankenship and husband, Ryan, of Wichita Falls; and great-grandchildren, Allison and Garrett Nors of Keller, Isla and Oliver Lyngle Barnes of Keller, and Zachary and Jacob Fulton of Arlington.
