Kathleen Sue Fox

July 8, 1956 — January 27, 2023

A celebration of the life of Kathleen Sue Fox, 66, is scheduled for Saturday, March 25th, at 3:30 p.m. at Wade Funeral Home, 4140 West Pioneer, Arlington, Texas. Kathy passed away January 27, 2023, in Fort Worth surrounded by her loved ones.

Kathy was born to John Nixon (“Nick”) Fox II and Evelyn (“Evie”) Conley Fox. Kathy’s maternal grandparents were Benjamin Albert Conley (“BoPo”) and Macy Evelyn Conn Conley, both of Kingfisher, Oklahoma. Her paternal grandparents were John Nixon Fox and Maude (“Moe”) Fox Findley.

After her dad graduated from the University of Oklahoma with an engineering degree and as an Air Force officer from its ROTC program, her mom and dad moved to Greenville, Mississippi, where Nick trained as an Air Force fighter pilot. Kathy was born in Mississippi on July 8, 1956. The young family was then stationed in France, where Kathy became a big sister to Carrie. Post-Air Force, the family moved back to Oklahoma. By the time Kathy was just four years old, she became a big sister again to brother, Nick, and a little while later, to her second sister, Connie.

After a time in Oklahoma, the family of six moved to Los Angeles while her dad earned a Ph.D. in industrial engineering from UCLA. When Kathy was 12 years old, her family settled in Arlington, Texas, after her dad accepted a position as a Professor in the Industrial Engineering department at the University of Texas at Arlington. Kathy went to Arlington High School where she met lifelong friends who loved her to the end. After graduating, she started college at OU, where her parents had attended. Kathy was just 19 when her father tragically died, and she transferred her credits and Delta Delta Delta sorority membership to UT Arlington to be back in Arlington with her family. While at UT Arlington, she met John Curry, whom she married and had two children, Krista and Austin.

Kathy worked 31 years at American Airlines, where she made many friends and was a proud and dedicated employee. Her career at American Airlines let her take her family all over the world, where some of her favorite travels included St. Martin, Paris, California, and Scotland.

Kathy was the kindest-hearted person and full of love. She loved to travel, read, laugh, cook, and host dinner parties. She loved putting as many of those together as she could. But most of all, she loved her family and friends. She is and will be dearly missed.

In addition to her grandparents and father, Kathy was recently preceded in death by her mother, Evelyn Conley Fox Berndt, and her stepfather, Walter Berndt.

Kathy is survived by so many that loved her deeply: Her daughter Krista Potter, her husband, Justin, and their two children, Conley and Evie; her son Austin Curry, his wife, Megan, and their three children, Clive, Caspar, and Colette; her sister, Carrie Fox, and her children, Kacie Smith, Sara Keeton File, and Clint Fox Keeton; Nick Fox III, and his children, Nick Fox IV, Kate Fox, and Molly Fox; Connie Fox, and her children, Macy Layne Silva and Max Layne; and her stepbrothers and their wives and stepsister, Dave (and Jolie) Berndt, Bob (and Debbie) Berndt, and Juli Evangelista.

Kathy’s family would also like to extend a special thank you to Fannie Lindsey for the patient and compassionate care she has provided to our family over the years.
