Kaitlyn Mary Nguyen, born on October 13, 2006, in Arlington, Texas, passed away on February 12, 2025. Kaitlyn was a bright light in the lives of everyone who knew her-selfless, generous, and always putting others before herself.
A senior at Lake Ridge High School, Kaitlyn was an honor student with straight A's. She was ranked #63 in her class out of 680 students, with a GPA of 103.098, which converts to a 4.0 GPA. Kaitlyn was exceptionally intelligent and a determined young woman who could accomplish anything she set her mind to. As a State Champion in piano, her talent and dedication were evident in everything she pursued.
Kaitlyn was actively involved in her school and community. She was a member of Key Club, where she served as Hours Coordinator. In this role, she meticulously organized volunteer hours submitted by members into a spreadsheet for the club's records. She was also a proud member of the National Honor Society (NHS), having been accepted in her junior year. She dedicated her time to various community service events, including the Fall Festival and Boo Bash, always ensuring she met the required 15 volunteer hours per semester-though she often went above and beyond.
Kaitlyn had a love for sports, enjoying swimming, soccer, and most recently, pickleball. She had a competitive spirit and quiet strength that made her stand out in everything she did. Her love for music ranged from K-pop to punk rock and alternative rock, and she cherished celebrating Christmas and the Vietnamese New Year with her family.
She had a passion for travel and adventure, with some of her most memorable trips being to Canada, Cancun, the Dominican Republic, Bahamas, and Vietnam. Cruises were among her favorite experiences. Kaitlyn was also incredibly skilled with computers, aspiring to major in IT and work in cybersecurity. Her mom will deeply miss her help with all things technology, especially her phone.
Kaitlyn loved Mexican food and Pho, and her generous heart was evident in the way she often spent more on her friends than herself. She embraced life with love and kindness, always putting others first.
She is survived by her loving parents, Mary Ann Phung and Hoc Nguyen, who will forever hold her memory close.
