Junia Bettes March 17, 1931 – December 28, 2024

Junia Faye Robinson Bettes, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and devoted servant of God, passed away peacefully on December 28, 2024, in Arlington, Texas, at the age of 93. Born on March 17, 1931, in Borger, Texas, Junia was the middle of three children of Arthur and Pearl Robinson and spent her formative years in rural Kansas. She had a love of the outdoors and was a life member of the North American Fishing Club. She was a member of the Order Eastern Star - Dimit and Dallas chapters.

Junia earned her bachelor’s degree in Math from Oklahoma Baptist University, where she also played basketball. She loved spending time with her roommates Pat Dunlap and Margaret Bettes supporting each other through the good and the bad for the rest of their lives.

Her professional journey began with Chance Vought Aircraft, followed by a managerial role at Mobil Oil. Her passion for teaching led her to a rewarding career at Shackelford Junior High in Arlington, where she impacted countless students' lives until her retirement in 2005. Known affectionately by her students as "Mrs. B," Junia was admired for her outgoing personality, sense of humor, and stern but caring nature.

Answering God’s call, Junia dedicated 55 years to ministry alongside her husband, Edd Bettes, serving as missionaries in Canada for seven years, inspiring and touching the lives of many. Junia and Edd were long-time members of Good News World Outreach Church, where they enriched the spiritual lives of their community. Junia’s faith was unwavering and central to her life. She and Edd led high school Sunday School classes, offering guidance and mentorship to young believers. God blessed her with her son, Daniel, the greatest joy of her life. A dedicated wife, Junia always supported Edd’s dreams and credited her faith with transforming his life when they married in 1957.

Junia’s life was a testament to faith, love, and service. She had an incredible ability to make lifelong friends, bring light into others’ lives, and share her joy and wisdom. Junia is survived by her devoted husband of 67 years, Edd Bettes; her son Daniel Bettes (wife Kit); 3 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren and her niece Denice Robinson Gravatt (husband Scott). She was preceded in death by her parents Arthur and Pearl Robinson, brothers James S. Robinson and William H. Robinson. Junia will be remembered as a remarkable woman who devoted her life to her husband, faith, and service to others. Her legacy of love and kindness will continue to inspire all who were blessed to know her.
