Julius Calvin "Red" Pinson

November 6, 1956 — October 23, 2012

ARLINGTON -- Julius Calvin "Red" Pinson, 55, passed away Tuesday, October 23, 2012 in Arlington. Funeral: 11 a.m. Tuesday at Wade Family Funeral Home, 4140 W. Pioneer Parkway, Arlington. Visitation: The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday at the Funeral Home. Mr. Julius Calvin Pinson, affectionately known as “Red”, was born November 6, 1956, to the union of Mr. and Mrs. M.T. and Otis Jean Larkin Pinson. He and his siblings were raised by Ruby Larkin Walker after the loss of their mother. He received his formal education at Poly Technic High School in Fort Worth, Texas. Mr. Pinson was good with his hands working as a skilled Machinist for the City of Fort Worth; Mechanic at Master's International; and Assembly Technician at General Motors. Prior to his career with machines he was a Sanitation Engineer at the Federal Building. At an early age “Red” joined and was baptized at Rising Star Baptist Church under the pastorage of Rev. Smith Cary and later united with Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, Rev. O.L. Hegmon, Pastor. He was a member of the UAW (United Auto Workers) Local 276 Union at General Motors. He was also an active planner for the "Ezra Larkin Jr. Family United" reunions, where he was responsible for security and maintenance matters. The heart is the very seat of our soul, our emotions, and our passions. It is the very essence of our being and that which drives our thoughts and our motives……. (Proverbs 4:23). Though there are many words that could be used to describe our loved one, we collectively agree that he is best described as a man with a Servant's heart. In the community he was known for publicly sharing his love and adoration for his family. It was this public display of love that touched the lives and hearts of many on different levels. But, “Red” didn't stop there. He was known as a man who was not afraid to get down in the trenches to help those in need. More specifically, he took on tasks that no one wished to complete in addition to sacrificing his own needs to meet the needs of others. In his family, he was known as a strong and compassionate individual who always searched for ways to serve others. He was the epitome of a family-oriented man who showed his servant's heart in every situation; and if you were fortunate enough to know him you knew about his special touch, which blessed the lives of many, both seen and unseen. He was preceded in death by his father, M. T. Pinson; mother, Otis Jean Larkin Pinson; a caring and loving Mama, Ruby Larkin Walker. On Tuesday October 23, 2012, he departed from this life. He leaves to mourn his passing and to cherish his memories, a very beloved friend, Vinnie Cumbo; four boys, Chavis Pinson, Jasquin Pinson, Julius Calvin Pinson Jr., and Bruce Anthony Pinson; one sister, Gwendolyn M. Pinson Nunn; one brother, Bruce Edward Pinson; one aunt, Patsy Larkin Butler; one uncle, Titus Larkin a special niece, Fabianne “Teenie” Roberson; and a host of cousins, friends and other family.
