Julie Maldonado

July 24, 1981 — August 24, 2024

Arlington

On the day of August 24, 2024, a light that shone bright in the hearts of many was dimmed as Julie Maldonado, a cherished daughter, sister, and mother, tragically left this world due to an unforeseen circumstance. Born on July 24, 1981, in the vibrant city of Guaynabo, Puerto Rico. After spending some time in California as a child, she settled in Arlington, TX, where she became a long-time resident and beloved member of the community. Julie's departure has left a void in the lives of those who knew and adored her.

Julie, a powerful and fierce soul, adorned life with her talents and infectious spirit. She was known as "Puerto Rican Barbie" to many, a fitting nickname that captured her beauty inside and out. As a jack of all trades - a nail technician, hairstylist, makeup artist, and dental assistant - she painted the world with hues of beauty and rendered smiles effortlessly on those who crossed her path. Her love for red lipstick was as bold as her presence, a symbol of her vibrant personality that now remains in our memories.

Guided by her favorite affirmation, "I am powerful, and I am talented in many ways," Julie radiated confidence and warmth to whatever room she stepped in. Her love for adrenaline rushes led her to adventures like skydiving and ziplining, embodying her fearless nature. A true force of light, Julie's laughter was infectious, and her mannerisms, always cutesy and endearing, left a permanent mark on all who encountered her.

In her children, Julie found a kindred spirit and they shared a special bond that was unbreakable. Her and her daughter Yarielis, they were planning to embark on a new chapter in their lives by returning to school to pursue their dream of becoming science teachers, a testament to Julie's dedication to education and empowerment. On top of being a great mother she was also an amazing grandmother and didn't miss a chance to show off her granddaughter.

Apart from her many of talents, Julie possessed a heart that knew no bounds. Eager to lend a helping hand, she took pleasure in assisting others and will forever be remembered for her generosity and kindness. Her unconditional love extended not only to people but also animals. Her love for Hello Kitty was well-known among her friends and family. Hence her love for cats, she even had three Siamese cat, because it reminded her of her favorite animal which was a white tiger.

Julie Maldonado's light may have dimmed too soon, but her legacy of laughter, love, and fearlessness will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. Rest in peace, dear Julie, you will be deeply missed.

Julie's legacy lives on through the love she shared with her family. Survived by her daughter, Yarielis Vazquez; sons, Gabriel Velez and Jenziel Velez; granddaughter, Ivelissa Lassalle; siblings, Antonio Maldonado, Ada Conklin, Amarilys Irizzary, Joanna Irizzary.

She was preceded in death by her father Celso Maldonado.
