Julia Ann Bedford

Julia “Julie” Ann Ringelstein Bedford, 80, passed away from Alzheimer's on Thursday, November 29, 2018 in Arlington. Graveside Service: 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 6, 2018 at Dallas/Fort Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas. Memorials: Donations in Julie's name may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, www.alz.org or to Christ's Haven for Children, www.christshaven.org. Julie was born April 29, 1938 in Florence, AL to Robert Owen Ringelstein and Annabel Muse Ringelstein. The family later moved to Lawrenceburg, TN where Julie graduated from high school. She then attended airline training in Minneapolis, MN and was employed by American Airlines working in both Chicago and Dallas. After a lengthy battle with tuberculosis, Julie worked full time as a devoted mother and homemaker. Julie's fiery red hair matched her vibrant personality. She was a fiercely loyal friend, mother, and wife who fought for those in need. She fostered children from Christ's Haven, visited and helped the elderly at Lakewood Village as well as caring for her aging parents, and adopted every stray animal (and probably some that weren't strays) that she saw – at one time having ten cats and two dogs. She loved Tennessee, nature, animals, Blue Bell ice cream, and playing bridge and volleyball. Julie also loved outings with friends and even a little street racing in her beloved Jeepster, hot rod 1957 Thunderbird, and later in life, her Subaru and Lexus. Julie was preceded in death by her parents. Survivors: Husband of 56 years, Coy Bedford; daughter, Lori Edmondson and husband, Tedd; grandsons, Case and Connor Edmondson; brother, Dan Ringelstein and wife, Barbara; and sister, Faye Magee.
