Judy Kay Stangl, 67, of Arlington, TX, passed away peacefully with her husband David and son Ethan by her side at Faith Presbyterian Hospice in Dallas, TX on January 12, 2020. Judy was born September 20, 1952 in Algona, IA to Rev. Charles W. King and Bernice Ashmead King. Judy graduated from Ottumwa High School in 1971 and attended Ottumwa Heights College and Des Moines Area Community College with a degree in Dental Assisting. She enjoyed interior design, decorating, knitting, needlepoint, tailoring and many other creative endeavors. She was also an accomplished cook and baker, best known for her incredible pies. Judy married David Stangl in Fort Worth, Texas on Feb 16, 1985. They celebrated the birth of their son Ethan on January 10, 1994. She devoted her life to her family as a loving wife and mother. They were members of the First Baptist Church Arlington.
Judy is survived by her husband David, son Ethan, mother Bernice King of Coralville, IA, brother Dan King of Austin, TX, sisters Mia King of Iowa City, IA and Charlene Hansen of Ottumwa, IA, and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her father Rev. Charles W. King of Bloomfield, IA.
A service of remembrance will be held at 11:00 am Friday January 17, 2020 at First Baptist Church Arlington. A visitation will be held on Thursday evening January 16 from 6-8 pm at Wade Family Funeral Home in Arlington, TX.
