Judith Ann Childs

Judith (Judy) Ann Childs was born on September 10th, 1958, in Lancaster Pennsylvania to Dorothy Kight and Lloyd Rineer. She departed this life on January 25th, 2023, at 64 years of age, succumbing to her years-long battle with cancer. She fought hard and she fought valiantly till the very end.

Judy attended Solanco High School, graduating in 1976. Shortly thereafter, she enlisted in the United States Army and became a Specialist E-4, Personnel Records Clerk. It was during her time in the military that she met the love of her life, Ulyses Childs Jr. in Germany. Judy & Ulyses were united in holy matrimony on August 15th, 1979 and were together for 44 years. This union was blessed with two children, Nick and Eric Childs.

Judy was a ray of sunshine wherever she went. She had a passion for children and absolutely loved working in childcare for over 20 years. Even after retiring, she would still work hours at the daycare when needed. She was an avid traveler and a huge sports buff. If you brought up the words Redskins or Wildcats, she’d talk your ear off the rest of the day! She fiercely loved her family, especially her grandbabies.

Her life was as beautiful as her generous spirit and her influence will forever remain in the lives of all who knew her.

Judy was preceded in death by her mother Dorothy Kight, stepfather William Kight and father Lloyd Rineer.

Her beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of her family and friends. She is survived by her husband Ulyses Childs Jr.; children: Nick and Sheri Childs, Eric and Christina Childs; grandchildren: Aria Childs and Nakoa Childs; Siblings: Harold and Kathleen Rineer, David and Sandy Kight, and John Rineer; as well as a host of devoted nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
