Joyce Ann Stephenson

Joyce Ann Stephenson, age 84 of Arlington, passed away peacefully on February 19, 2023. Family members were at her side when the Lord took her home to be with him for eternity.
Joyce was born April 19, 1938 in Fort Worth Texas to the late Willard “Bill” and Edna Mae Stephenson. She grew up in Wichita Falls and Iowa Park Texas. She graduated from Iowa Park high school in 1956 and then went to Draughn’s Business School in Wichita Falls becoming proficient in typing, shorthand and all the other skills she would need to become a secretary.
She married in Loyd Lewis in 1957 and settled in Arlington in 1961. They had two children, Laura and Kevin. She was a homemaker and then helped with running their family laundromats. In the 1970s. she went to work for LTV (LING-Tempco-Vaught) currently Lockheed-Martin, Missiles and Fire Control division. She started as administrative assistant and advanced to invoicing specialist and retired in the early 2000s.
Some of Joyce‘s favorite hobbies were painting, birdwatching and traveling prior to retiring. She worked a second job at American Airlines, therefore fulfilling her dreams, traveling to many destinations in Europe and North America. She took painting classes at the Upstairs Gallery and loved watching Bill Alexander and Bob Ross. She painted many beautiful paintings and shared her talent with her children and grandchildren by teaching and guiding them to paint their “own little masterpieces.” She loved dogs and had two companions, Wookie, a Yorkshire Terrier and Samantha a Shih Tzu.
She loved us all dearly and always supported us in any way she could.
Joyce is survived by her daughter, Laura Bell of Arlington and Kevin Lewis of Aurora Colorado; three grandchildren, Chet Bell, and wife, Melissa of Arlington, Leslie Glass and husband, Jeremy of Arlington, and Kendra Lewis of Aurora Colorado; five great-grandchildren, Aiden Bell, Elliette Glass, Jameson Glass, Jacob Bell, and Anneliese Glass all of Arlington; her sister, Kassy Bever and husband, Jim of Iowa Park and their sons, Chad and Travis; brother Gilbert Stephenson and wife Christie of St. Louis Missouri.
Her friends and family love her deeply and will miss her immensely.
