ARLINGTON -- Joe Coppoletta, 88, passed away on Saturday, January 24, 2015 in Arlington. Funeral: 9:30 a.m. Friday, January 30, 2015 at Wade Family Funeral Home, 4140 W. Pioneer Pkwy., Arlington with Dr. James Hennesy and Rev. Jerry Morris officiating. Graveside Service: 11:30 a.m. at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, Dallas, Lane C. Joe was born on September 4, 1926 in Union City, NJ to Gratziano Coppoletta and Melinia Gallo Coppoletta. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran serving during WWII. He was married to his sweetheart of 50 years, Roberta Coppoletta. Joe owned and operated Joe Coppoletta Electric for 27 years in Arlington. He previously lived in Union City, NJ, Ft Lauderdale, Fl, Odessa, Texas and Midland, Texas. He trained his sons, Bruce and Jerry in the electrical trade. Some of the things he loved to do was attend the Veterans Day Service event honoring Veterans. He was selected to fly on the Ellis County Honor Flight to Washington DC with other veterans. He also served in prison ministry and received medals in Odessa and Arlington for his service. As recent as this Christmas, he spent Christmas day handing out teddy bears with his family at Charlton Methodist Hospital. Joe had a great sense of humor and loved to give generously to others. At one time, he worked 3 jobs to support his family. Joe Coppoletta attended Fielder Road Church in Arlington. He was predeceased by his parents; and a sister, Catherine. Survivors: Wife, Roberta; his daughter, Lisa Speaks, and her husband, Dr. Kirtland Speaks; daughter, Patricia Rogers and her husband, Patrick Rogers; Sons: Bruce Verdino, Jerry Verdino, Joe Coppoletta and wife, Cathy, Bobby Coppoletta and wife, Candy, and Greg Coppoletta. He was papa to Kalina and Keaton Speaks and grandfather to numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister, Mary Balsamo; and precious dog, Tony.
