ARLINGTON -- Joseph Milton Whetstone, 89, passed away Friday, Feb. 14, 2014. Funeral: 2 p.m. Thursday at Wade Family Funeral Home, 4140 W. Pioneer Parkway, Arlington. Interment: Moore Memorial Gardens, 1219 N. Davis Drive, Arlington. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Wade Family Funeral Home. Joe was born Dec. 18, 1924, in Waco to Edna and Harrell Whetstone. He graduated from Longview High School and Texas A&M University. Joe served in the U.S. Marine Corps. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Arlington. Joe was preceded in death by his parents; son, Scott Joseph Whetstone; and brother, Newton Whetstone. Survivors: Wife, Gloria Whetstone; daughter, Vickie Thornton and husband, Bobby; daughter, Jan Hoskison and husband, Harold; four grandchildren and their spouses; and three great-grandchildren.
