Joseph Carroll Steen

DALLAS – Joseph Carroll Steen, Jr., 86, passed away on Sunday, February 12, 2017 in Dallas. Graveside Service: 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 18th, at Midlothian Cemetery in Ellis County with James R. “Dick” Ritchie officiating. Carroll was born on September 4, 1930 in Waco to Joseph Carroll Steen Sr. and Alice Lee Rea Steen. He was raised in Midlothian. A resident of Dallas since March 1946, he graduated from Adamson High School. He loved everything about the State Fair and served as a Parade Official for many years. Carroll was also an avid Baylor Bear fan. He served as a staff sergeant in the U.S. Air Force. Carroll retired as an accountant with McShan Florist in Dallas and was a member of White Rock United Methodist Church. Carroll is preceded in death by his beloved mother, Alice Lee Steen of Dallas; his first cousin, Martha Ellis Wade of Arlington; and long time friends, Rose Scrivner Cain of Dallas and Duane Hines of Lipan. Survivors: He is survived by his cousins; a host of friends; and his beloved Dachshund, Sam.
