John William Becker

John William Becker of Arlington, Texas passed away Saturday, September 9, 2017 at his home. Visitation will be at Wade Funeral Home on Sunday, September 17 from 4-6. A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, September 18 at Wade Funeral Home, 4140 W. Pioneer Parkway, Arlington, Texas 76013. Pastor David Jenkins will be officiating. Burial will follow at the DFW National Cemetery. John was born September 24, 1944 in Abilene, Texas to Thomas and Margaret Becker. He graduated from St. Claire Shores High School in 1962. John joined the U.S. Air Force right after high school, and while stationed in Del Rio, Texas, he met and married Beverly Jo Dingler on June 19, 1965. John was employed as an engineer with Southern Pacific Railroad. He retired from the railroad in 2004. John enjoyed building fast cars, and being a machinist. He had an uncanny ability to make people laugh. He loved, family, food and friends. John is survived by his wife Beverly of 52 years, daughter and son-in-law Tracy and Don Kirkham, son and daughter-in-law John Jr. and April Becker, son and daughter-in-law Michael and Shalonda Becker, brother and sister-in-law Tom and Karen Becker and many loving grandchildren and great grandchildren.
