ARLINGTON -- John William "Red" Bainbridge, 76, passed away Friday, July 6,2012, in Arlington.
Funeral: 10 a.m. Wednesday at Wade Family Funeral Home, 4140 West Pioneer Parkway, Arlington. Interment: 12:30 p.m. Wednesday in Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas. Visitation:6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at funeral home.
John was born on Aug.. 16, 1935, in Pottsville, Pa. He honorably served his country in the U.S. Air Force for 20 years. His specialty was an avionic electronic equipment naval system technician. John retired as a master sergeant on Dec. 31, 1974. His medals and rewards for military service included the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Air Force Commendation Medal, Longevity Service Award, Outstanding Unit Award, and Good Conduct award. He worked for the U.S. Postal Service for 20 years and retired in 1991.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Vera Bainbridge, and his wife, Mary Bainbridge.
Survivors: Daughter, Ingrid Harris of Moore, Okla.; son, Sean Bainbridge of Oklahoma City, Okla.; stepson, Jimmy Kanetzky and wife, Lisa, of College Station; grandchildren, Britinii Davis, LeTasha Holt and Nathan Harris of Moore, Okla., Jonathan Kanetzky and Frances Kanetzky of College Station, Ronnie Long of Graham, Cable Anders of Burnett; great-grandchildren, Brianna Holt, Ayvree Holt and Kaylee Long.
