John Frederick Mitchell

John F. Mitchell, 82, of Arlington TX., passed away on Monday, August 17, 2020. He was born on August 2, 1938 in Elmira NY., he was the son of the late Joseph A. Mitchell and Jean H. Mitchell. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, August 26 at 10:15 AM at Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery. The funeral procession will line up in lane 2. John was a member of Athens High School, class of 1956, in Athens Pennsylvania. Leaving high school, he enlisted and served in the US Navy which he loved, from 1955 to 1977, when he retired. John was an employee of Digital Equipment Corporation for 19 years and a Principal in Signcast Corporation. John was a lover of animals, loved to dance, loved his family, and left these words, “Thanks for the memories”. Surviving are his daughters, Teresa K. Eaton, Jennifer L. Mitchell, and Teresa Lynch; son, Richard Campbell; grandchildren, Christopher Lynch, Sarah Eaton Hackett; and dog, Sadie. John was preceded in death by his wife, Lynda; parents, Joseph, and Jean Mitchell; daughter, Lynn Marie; brothers, Sidney, Douglas, Thomas; sister, Patricia. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions may be directed your local SPCA for the pets in need.
