John "Butch" Edward Courtney

July 19, 1942 — March 8, 2022

John “Butch” Edward Courtney, age 79, passed away on March 8, 2022 in Kennedale, Texas.
Butch was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. He was received into heaven after a long and courageous battle with dementia and Alzheimer’s disease.
John is survived by his lovely wife of 59 years Carolyn Kay Wickard, sons Mark Courtney and wife Lori, Keith Courtney and wife Kimberly. Grandchildren Kaylynn, Jacob, Joey, Kristina, Erica, Lexi, Makenzi, Troy, Walker, Fulton and Greta Key. Great-grandchildren Natalie, Livie, Maddie, Noah, Miguel, Leo and Emma Claire and nephews, Charles, Scott, and Barry Moss.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 15, 2022, from 6:00 pm -8:00 pm at Wade Family Funeral Home.
Graveside Service will be Wednesday, March 16, 2022, at 10:00 am at Johnson Station Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family is requesting memorial donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
