Joe Moran Arocha, 91, passed away on Sunday, February 26, 2023 in Kennedale, Texas.
Funeral Service: 10 a.m. Saturday, March 4, at Wade Family Funeral Home, 4140 W. Pioneer Parkway, Arlington. Visitation: 4-8 p.m. Friday, March 3, at the funeral home.
Joe was born on July 20, 1931 in San Angelo, Texas to Antonio Arocha and Antanacia Moran Arocha. He was a very intelligent man and business man. Joe was a glazier who owned his own glass company. He had a great work ethic and was very precise with his work. Joe worked until he was 84 years old. He named his work truck “La Paloma” which was his favorite vehicle. He said he never had to pay for any of his vehicles since they paid for themselves.
Joe was very outgoing and treasured the relationships he made. He was always considerate of others time. He was a very practical and simple man who never met a stranger. Joe was a numbers guy who enjoyed history, treasure hunting and he was a natural artist. He loved going camping, watching western movies and coin collecting. He loved to go out to eat especially for family gatherings. Everyone knew his favorite food was chalupas as long as it had a scoop of guacamole. He was very self sufficient and loved to ride the city bus. The entire community knew who Joe was. He was also known in having a very close relationship with his mother.
Joe dearly loved his family and communicated daily with each one of his children. Because his love for family, he encouraged family to always gather together. He loved being a grandfather and cherished all his grandchildren and made a point of knowing each one of them. When the grandkids were young, he would take them on long walks to the park; ice cream at Dairy Queen; and to eat pizza. Joe bought gifts for everybody at Christmas and always gave greeting cards for birthdays, anniversaries and holidays. His love for life and warm presence will be dearly missed.
Survivors: His children Joe Arocha, Jr (Doramarie); Liz Arocha Gomez (Jesse), Leonard Arocha (Kim), Kathi Arocha Jessup (Wayne). 10 Grandchildren: Lisa Marie, Leticia, Joshua, Edwina, Clarisa, Liza, Leah, Yvonne, Christopher and Carly. 13 Great grandchildren: Luisa, Antonio Jr., Syanna, Joshua, Sabastion, Nataleigh, Adrienne, Brianna, Olivia, Ally, Hannah, Jonah, and Nehemiah.
