May 24, 1934 — June 28, 2012

ARLINGTON -- Joe Davis Fuller, 78, of Hico, passed away Thursday, June 28, 2012 in Arlington from a combination of Congestive Heart Failure and Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome. Funeral: 3 p.m. Saturday at Wade Family Funeral Home, 4140 W. Pioneer Pkwy., Arlington. Visitation: The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorials: Gideon Bible donations at http://www.gideons.org/ Joe was born to Jess and Bess Fuller on May 24, 1934. He was their youngest child in his large extended family. He was born and raised in Pantego, Texas. He was a lifelong member of Pantego Bible Church, the church getting its beginnings under the Brush Arbor at his grandparents' homestead. He also attended Fielder Road Baptist Church and First Baptist Hico. Joe attended Pantego School, which only had 8 grades, before moving to Arlington High School where he was a proud member of the Class of 1952. After high school he attended Arlington State College before starting what would be a 40 year career with Texas Electric Service Company (now Oncor). His time at TESCO was interrupted by a stint in the US Army in the mid 50s. He was stationed for a time at Fort Bliss, in New Jersey and spent over a year in West Germany as a peacekeeper. He married Maxine Payne in 1955. Saying it might be her only chance to see Europe when he went to West Germany so did Max. Joe was preceded in death by his youngest son, Daniel Wade, in 1987, his parents, his sister Lavena Walter, and the mother of his children, Maxine Fuller. What a reunion there was in Heaven in the early morning of Friday of last week. Today he is enjoying his time with God and his many friends and family. He has a perfect and healthy body, no breathing problems nor any other health issue. Left behind to cherish his memory, mourn his passing and celebrate his Homegoing include: Wife, Yuvonna C.
