Arlington, Texas – Joanne Marilyn Toblesky, beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on April 27, 2024, in Arlington,Texas surrounded by her loving family.

Joanne was born on March 9, 1934, in Chicago to the late Frank Bennett and Martha Dorothy Grosskopf. She attended Charles Schurz High School in Chicago and continued her education at the University of Illinois at Chicago.

Throughout her life, Joanne embodied the values of generosity, compassion, and hard work. She found fulfillment in her career as an administrative assistant for law firms and in her role as a dedicated homemaker. Her warm and loving personality endeared her to all who knew her, and her boundless kindness touched the lives of many.

An avid tennis player, Joanne found joy on the court and cherished her tennis trips to Florida. She also shared many laughter-filled moments playing bridge and pinochle with friends.

Family was paramount to Joanne, and she treasured every moment spent with her three children, Diane Berner, William Berner, and Suzanne Berner. Her grandchildren, Robert and Rebekah, brought immense happiness to her life, and she adored being a part of their lives.

Joanne was a faithful member of the Lutheran and Presbyterian churches, where she found solace and community.

Joanne Marilyn Toblesky leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and cherished memories. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Joanne was preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by her children, Diane Berner, William Berner (wife Patti), and Suzanne Berner; and grandchildren, Robert and Rebekah. She is also survived by family of her late husband Walter Toblesky – Harriet (husband Chuck), Diane, Nickie and Jackie.
