Jo Ann Meador

Fort Worth, Texas-Jo Ann Baty Meador, loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother, 82, went to be with Jesus Wednesday, March 18, 2020. Service: Memorial Service with be scheduled at a later date. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Mission Arlington. Jo Ann was born on September 11, 1937 to Vance Baley Baty and Julia Jewell (Davis) Baty in Little Rock, Arkansas. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Little Rock where she accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. She attended Quachita Baptist University in Arkadelphia, Arkansas. While there she met her husband of 46 years, Richard Meador. They lived in Little Rock with their two daughters, Julie and Tami, until moving to Fort Worth, Texas in 1965. She was a member of Sagamore Hill Baptist Church where she worked as a church secretary and a preschool coordinator. Her next journey was East Meadows Baptist Church where she was also a church secretary for 20 years. She then became a member of the Winsome Class at First Baptist Church, Arlington. After taking some time off she began working for Wade Family Funeral Home in Arlington until her retirement. She also volunteered at Mission Arlington for many years. She loved spending time with her family and will be dearly missed by them and many friends. The family would like to thank Courtyards at River Park Memory Care and Encompass Hospice for the care she was given. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Meador, her parents, Vance and Jewell Baty and her sister, Patsy Herrin. Survivors: Daughters, Julie Stocker (Dean), Tami Kelley (Dick); granddaughters, Falan Simpson (Beau), Tristan Beard (Matt), Lauren Zimmerman (Tyler), Jennifer Ardoyno (Toby), Brooke Granger (Dave), Cyndi Woodward (Shawn); great-grandchildren, Jesse and Cale Zimmerman, Connor Beard, Henzie Simpson, Madi Vick, Kenzie and Pippa Woodward, Andon, Nina and Farrah Ardoyno, Zoe Gardner; and several nieces and nephews.
