Jo Ann McAdoo passed into the presence of our Most Holy Lord and Savior on Monday, April 29, 2013. She died peacefully with her loving and devoted husband Jack, her loving daughter, Donna, her sweet and loving sister, Nelda, and Donna's husband, Steve by her side praying over her and reading her favorite scriptures from the Bible. She was born August 17, 1937 in Como, Texas to Elizabeth and Jack McGinnis. She was a graduate of honors from Longview High School in 1955 in Longview, Texas. She and her husband, Jack, were married January 10, 1958. Four years later, they were blessed with the miracle birth of their precious daughter, Donna. Jo Ann had a love of children and a passion for teaching them about God and His love. She taught first grade Sunday School in Longview and in Arlington for 30 years along with leading Sunday School and Vacation Bible School conferences for 15 years. Jack and Donna were the light of her life that she cherished and loved dearly. Love, laughter, and security were always felt in their home. Jo Ann treasured wonderful moments of watching movies, talking with her family, and doing for others. Jo Ann had many friends who looked to her as someone who gave them encouragement when needed, who had a loving and kind spirit, and an unselfish nature. She was a “joyful Christian.” She leaves behind a legacy of loving God and life. Jo Ann is survived by Jack and Donna, Nelda Briley, her sister, of Burleson, Texas, brother, Ken McGinnis of Longview, Texas and many other special and faithful family members and friends. A celebration to honor Jo Ann's life will be held at the Wade Family Funeral Home 4140 W. Pioneer Parkway in Arlington, Texas, on Thursday, May 2, 2013 at 11:30 for visitation and 12:30 for the service. Burial will be held at the Fort Worth-Dallas National Cemetery at 2:30. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Martha Foster Lung Center at Baylor Hospital in Dallas, Texas.
