Joann Hintze

January 12, 1936 — February 12, 2024

Joann Hintze was born on January 12, 1936 in California. Her parents were Charles Campbell and Ann Mays. As a young child, Joann and her mother moved to Texas. Her childhood was spent between Detroit, Michigan and Grand Prairie, Texas. Joann worked at GTE for 30 years, where she became an executive and was very successful. She was not only a successful businesswoman, but also a wonderful mother to her three children – Roni, Lynn and Kenny.

Later in life, Joann moved to Hunt, Texas where she enjoyed swimming in the Guadalupe, attending Bible Study and instructing tennis at Camp Waldermar. During her time at Waldermar, she was chosen as counselor of the Year. Five years ago, Joann moved from Hunt to Mansfield to be closer to her family. She built a home in the Ladera Community where she loved to swim, play Canasta and attend Bible Study. Her greatest joy during that time was spending time with her best friend, a sweet little dog named Buddy Boo. Joann was an active member of Walnut Ridge Baptist Church.

Joann had two siblings – Kennith and Donna. She was a loving mother to Roni Jo, Ruben Lynn, and Kenny Ray. She loved being “Texas Grandma” and “Grandma Joann” to Brooke, Blaine, Kevin, Cameron, Alex, and Maggie. When her first great-grandchild was born, Joann became “GG”. She had 13 great-grandchildren – Brayden, Brynnley, Baylor, Matteo, Luca, Jesse, Andrew, Charlie, Henry, Julia, Lucy, Norah Jane and Martin.

After a long battle with many health issues, Joann passed away on February 12, 2024.

She will be missed by all who loved her, but we are thankful that she is no longer suffering and is with her Savior.
