Joan Roberta Vaught, 88, beloved wife, mother and grandmother, passed away on Saturday, January 23, 2021 in Arlington. Funeral Service: 11 a.m. Saturday, January 30, at Victory Baptist Church, 1311 East Bankhead Drive, Weatherford, Texas 76086. Interment: Greenwood Memorial Park, Fort Worth. Visitation: 6-8 p.m. Friday, January 29, at Wade Family Funeral Home, 4140 W. Pioneer Parkway, Arlington. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Victory Baptist Church Missions Fund in honor of Joan Vaught. Joan was born on May 6, 1932 in Dalhart, Texas to Hardie Whitfield Holcomb and Roberta Pearle Divine Holcomb. A resident of Weatherford, Texas since 1986, she previously lived in Georgia. Joan served in ministry with her husband in Trenton, Georgia for 17 years. They loved Sand Mountain Bible Camp and Good Samaritan Home for Girls. Friends from the Hartis Assisted Living called Joan the “First Lady”. She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Vaught on March 10, 2011. Survivors: Children, Sandra Van Vleck, Tim Vaught and wife, Caren, Teresa Easley and husband, John, and Maria Smith and husband, Stephen, Peggy Emanuelson and husband, Mick; grandchildren, Tonya Van Vleck, Shannon Vaught, Austin Merriott, Ariel Morgan and Ryan Morgan; and 4 great-grandchildren.
