Jo Ruth Colliflower was born on January 3, 1930 to Vivian and Don McCreary in Weatherford, Texas.
She was proceeded in death by her parents and her sister Billie Don, her husband of 65 years John Marshall Colliflower, her son Royce Colliflower and son in law Bob McGovern and cousin Sam and Jo Dews, and Betty Westbrook.
She is survived by her daughter Ella Jo McGovern and son Tony Colliflower, and grandchildren Beth Anne Woodard, Brian McGovern (Nelda), Carmen Pusateri, Amanda Kenward and Clifton Colliflower, Peggy Mages and Cheryl Rogers, great granddaughters Bailey Woodard and Riley Woodard and many other great grandchildren. Cousin Vaughn Smith and Virginia Milner, Otis Sikes and Nancy Bush, Cousins Kim and Art Mory and Deanna and Brent Rust and family and many other cousins.
She was a great homemaker making great doughnuts and white cookies for teachers and family. She moved to Arlington with the opening of the General Motors Plant in 1954. She lived most of her life in Arlington. She supported her husband with his UAW job and travelled and moved with his job to Kansas and Arkansas.
She loved landscaping her large yard and growing flowers and moving rocks. She was great at finishing concrete. She and Marshall enjoyed their cabin in Whitney. She loved fishing in their boathouse and cooking with her sister Billie. She loved her dogs and cats.
Jo Ruth enjoyed hearing about the Texas Rangers Baseball team from her daughter who volunteered there.
She loved meeting with her WHS class of 1947. She enjoyed talking to a long time friend from seventh grade Mable Davee.
She was a part of the Couts Memorial Methodist cradle class in Weatherford and Epworth Methodist Church ins Arlington. She loved her friend Johnnie Sue and Mike Bucek who kept her in touch with the First Methodist Church and politics. She appreciated her neighbor Nancy Alexander who enjoyed birds and plants together.
