FORT WORTH -- Jimmy Roy Taylor, 81, passed away on Tuesday, July 29, 2014.
Memorial service: 1 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 5, at Wade Family Funeral Home, 4140 W. Pioneer Parkway, Arlington.
Jimmy was born in Arcadia, La., on Feb. 16, 1933, to Inez Dyer Taylor and Fostor F. Roy Taylor. Jimmy, usually known simply as "Taylor," was an architectural graduate from LSU, played in the LSU Tiger Band, served in the Air Force during the Korean War and lived a very active life. He was an avid outdoorsman and the ultimate non-conformist. He lived life "His Way." He was a great friend to many people and will be missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Inez Dyer Atkins and F. Roy Taylor.
Survivors: Wife, Ann Taylor of Galveston; son, Kevin Scott Taylor of Colleyville and wife, Renee; sisters, Pat O'Kelly and husband, Doug, of Schulenburg, Margaret Taylor Schlaudecker and husband, Roy, of Baton Rouge, La.; nephews, Mike O'Kelly, Dave O'Kelly and Tyler Schlaudecker; niece, Jessica Schlaudecker; stepchildren, Dana Wilson, Jerry Moore, Marian Walker, Martha Rubash; and beautiful grandchildren, Alison Taylor and Grayson Taylor.
