James (Jim) Vincent Rademakers, 74, passed away on July 1, 2017 from complications of Alzheimer's.
A celebration of his life will be held Saturday July 8 at 2:00 pm at Wade Family Funeral Home.
Jim was born in Brooklyn, New York (Oct 3, 1942), and spent most of his working career with IBM. He moved to Texas from New York in 1975, and fell in love with the state. He raised three children, who are all successful in life. In his free time, he enjoyed sailing, fishing, skeet shooting, coin collecting, horse racing, and investing and watching the stock market and the grass grow.
Almost every year, he made a trip to his favorite annual vacation spot: Destin, Florida. On the way to the beach, he almost always stopped along the way in Louisiana or Alabama to see how his luck was running at a casino.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Martin and his first wife Beth.
Survivors include wife, Debra; sister, Agnes; sons David (Ann) and Jason; and daughter Lisa. He has seven grandchildren who believe he hung the moon.
One of his favorite phrases was, “Are we having fun yet?”, which became the motto of the family during any difficult situation.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to NC Texas Chapter of Alzheimer's Association, a group that added much happiness to his life in his later months.
