It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jill Marsha Bourassa, who passed away on March 30, 2024, at the age of 72, with her husband by her side. Born on December 31, 1951, in Bay City, Michigan, Jill’s warm and vibrant personality touched the lives of all who knew her.
Jill was a devoted member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church, where she spent countless hours teaching Vacation Bible School and contributing her talents to various church projects. Her love for needlework was evident in the beautiful pieces she created for weddings, birthdays, and her church family, showcasing her creativity and attention to detail.
In her personal life, Jill shared a deep and loving bond with her husband, Mickey, whom she met in the neighborhood and shared many wonderful years together. Jill found joy in spending time with her children and grandchildren, cherishing each moment spent with them and creating lasting memories. Despite facing health challenges throughout her life, Jill remained resilient and strong, with a tough resolve that inspired all those around her.
Known for her friendly nature and welcoming spirit, Jill never hesitated to strike up a conversation and make new friends wherever she went. She had a passion for music, often dancing to the tunes of the Rolling Stones and finding solace in their melodies. In her professional life, Jill graduated from Western Michigan University and served as a substitute elementary teacher, where her dedication to education and care for her students left a lasting impact.
Jill was preceded in death by her parents Robert and Bernice Davis, and sister Jeanine Zelnis.
Her presence will be deeply missed by her husband, Mickey Bourassa, daughters Sarah Steimel and husband Charles, and Rachel Jimenez and husband Michael, grandchildren Catherine and William Steimel, and Clara, Sawyer, and Lillian Jimenez. She is also survived by sisters Joanette (Larry) White and Jerilyn (Jim) Luce, and all those who had the privilege of knowing her. Memorial services and ceremonies to celebrate Jill’s life will be held in the coming days at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 4400 W. Arkansas Lane, Arlington, Texas, providing an opportunity for family and friends to come together in remembrance and honor the legacy she leaves behind. May her memory be a source of comfort and strength during this difficult time.
