Jesús C. Sauceda was born October 27, 1941 in San Antonio, Texas.
He was married for 47 years to Consuelo Cantu Sauceda, a native of Dallas, Texas.
Jesús was preceded in death by his father, Blas Sauceda and mother, Petra Sauceda as well as his paternal and maternal grandparents. He is survived by siblings, Raul Sauceda and wife, Lyn Sauceda, Guadalupe Torres and husband, David Torres, Rosemary Sauceda, as well as numerous nephews and nieces. He leaves behind his beloved wife and companion Consuelo (Glady) Sauceda and his children: Nina Mayes and husband Jason Mayes, Son, Victor Sauceda and wife Amy Sauceda; grandchildren, Isabel Elena and Emma Grace Mayes and Estella Grace Sauceda.
Jesús who was an avid reader and learner was a graduate of St. Mary's University in San Antonio, Texas, received a Master's Degree in Social Work from the University of Houston and obtained his Law Degree at Texas Southern University in Houston, Texas. He practiced immigration law for over 35 years primarily in Fort Worth, Texas where he was known as an expert in his field. He proudly served 4 years in the U.S. Army.
He was a member of Tate Springs Baptist Church for the last 35 years where he served in numerous capacities: singing in the choir, Vacation Bible School, camp counselor, Sunday School member and participating in his beloved mission trips to Torreon, Mexico for 13 years.
He was politically involved in San Antonio, Texas where he developed a passion for making change. Jesús was passionate regarding love for family, God, work and music, especially the guitar.
Jesús went to meet his master on July 14, 2017 in the comfort of his daughter and son-in-law's loving home and presence of his adoring family. He was a generous and loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend and his clever wit will never be forgotten.
The family expresses gratitude to the staff from Kindred Mansfield Plaza and Mission Hospice as well as the outpouring of love from so many family members and friends during his long illness. He fought a good fight and won the victory with God's help.
