ARLINGTON -- J.A. "J" Marshall passed away Sunday, Nov. 10, 2013, in Arlington.
Funeral: 10 a.m. Thursday at Wade Family Funeral Home, 4140 W. Pioneer Parkway, Arlington. Visitation: The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday.
Memorials: Memorial gifts may be made to the Institute in Basic Life Principles, Box One, Oak Brook, Ill. 60522-3001, or a church of choice.
J was born Oct. 31, 1935, in Ravenna to the late Roy Marshall and Pearl Horn Marshall. He graduated from Bonham High School in 1954 and Texas A&M in 1958. J was employed as a flight test engineer with the Boeing Co. and LTV and was employed as a member of the technical staff with TRW systems. J retired as director of information systems and services for the city of Fort Worth. He served one term as president of the Texas Association of Governmental Data Processing Managers. He served on the board of trustees for AMIGOS Bibliographical Council. J was a member of Fairpark Baptist Church in Fort Worth. For a number of years he was a Bible Study Fellowship discussion leader and was a volunteer worship leader at the Tarrant County jail.
Survivors: Beloved wife of 55 years, Joyce Carter Marshall of Arlington; son, Kevin Marshall; grandson, John Marshall; and sister, Wynell Gilbreath.
