It is with immense sorrow and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jesse Roy Liggins, a cherished son, beloved friend, and a vibrant member of our community. Jesse left this world too soon on December 21, 2023, in Fort Worth, Texas, at the age of 30.
Jesse’s enduring spirit and passion were evident throughout his life. Born in Arlington, Texas, he brought joy and laughter to all who had the pleasure of knowing him. An avid sports enthusiast, Jesse held a special place in his heart for the Lakers, considering Kobe Bryant his all-time favorite player. He cheered relentlessly for the San Francisco 49ers, his chosen football team. Whether it was discussing games or cheering from the stands, sports were an integral part of Jesse’s life, igniting a fire within him like no other.
Beyond his love for sports, Jesse possessed a genuine enthusiasm for gaming and found solace in playing Nintendo games. His playful spirit remained alive as he embraced the thrill and challenges of the virtual world. Jesse’s passion for gaming exemplified his ability to find joy in every moment, bringing laughter and unity to those around him.
Jesse’s dedication to his education led him to attend Grapevine-Colleyville High School, where he cultivated lasting friendships and made a lasting impact on those whose lives he touched. Filled with ambition and a thirst for knowledge, he went on to graduate from the University of North Texas with a Bachelor’s degree in Integrated Studies, showcasing his diverse interests and his ability to bridge disciplines.
Jesse’s memory will forever be cherished by his beloved mother Karen Johnson, his doting father Charles Liggins, his brothers Nathanial and Jordan Liggins and by all his other relatives and friends who were fortunate enough to experience his radiant presence. Though his time with us was shorter than any of us would have wished, we find solace in knowing that his spirit will live on in our hearts and memories.
May Jesse’s journey into eternity be a peaceful one, and may his vibrant spirit guide us through the darkest moments of grief, reminding us to live each day to the fullest, just as he did.
Rest in peace, dear Jesse. You will be profoundly missed, but your memory will forever inspire us.
