Jesse Andrew DeTienne, age 37, was born in Dallas, Texas at Presbyterian Hospital on November 17, 1986.
Jesse is survived by his parents, Jerome C. DeTienne and Rhonda DeTienne and his brother, Jacob Wayne DeTienne.
Growing up in Garland, Texas, he participated in sports at the Garland YMCA. Later living in Rowlett, he participated in scouting at Kelley Elementary and Sacred Heart Church. He was confirmed from Joy Lutheran Church in Rowlett. At Rowlett High School, Jesse was a member of the Rowlett Eagles Marching Band playing trumpet and going twice to the Texas State Marching Band Contest. He graduted from Rowlett High School in 2005.
Jesse loved sports primarily the New York Yankees and Texas Longhorns. Once Jesse started attending the University of Texas at Arlington, he followed the UTA basketball and worked at the UTA Shorthorn providing coverage. He started coverage of UTA wheelchair basketball and provided coverage of UTA Wheelchair Championship game from Erie, PA. He graduated from UTA in 2017 with a Communications major.
Jesse worked at a great number of restaurants and bars in Arlington over the years. Meeting many people and celebrities over that time while making many friends. His articles are on Nolan Writin’, MuckRack and Mr. Deets34.
Jesse will be remembered for his big voice, quick wit and engaging nature. He died in his sleep on Saturday, September 9, 2024 surrounded by family.
