ARLINGTON -- Jerry Robert Jones, 71, passed away early Thursday, June 4, 2015, after living with frontal temporal degeneration for the last several years.
Service: Please join his family for a celebration of life at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Wade Family Funeral Home, 4140 W. Pioneer Parkway, Arlington 76013.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to UT Southwestern Medical Center, Memory Research Unit.
Jerry was born July 16, 1943, in Dallas to Gilbert O. Jones and Amy R. Smith Jones. After proudly serving in the United States Marine Corps, Jerry graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington. He enjoyed professional success for many years as a commercial real estate appraiser, establishing his own company after college.
Always up for good time and full of laughs, Jerry's adventurous spirit had him racing motorcycles, riding cutting horses, and refurbishing old cars in his free time.
Jerry was preceded in death by his son, Jeffrey Wade Jones; father, Gilbert Jones; and sister, Darlean Love.
Survivors: He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Barbara K. Jones; his mother, Amy Jones; his daughters, Kimberly Benningfield and Kelly Bajec (husband, Christopher Bajec); his grandchildren, Dylan, Mattie, Colin, Casey and Abbey; his brothers, Travis and Larry; his sisters-in-law, Shirley and Barbara Jones; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews; as well as countless friends.
