ARLINGTON -- Jerry Boone Perkins, 76, passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2016, in Plano.
Funeral: 1 p.m. Saturday at Wade Family Funeral Home, 4140 W. Pioneer Parkway in Arlington with Rev. Jerry Morris officiating.
Interment: 1 p.m. Monday at Pidcoke Cemetery in Gatesville. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Jerry was born on Jan. 30, 1940, in Coryell County to William Edmond Perkins and Bessie Elizabeth Seay Perkins. Raised in Pidcoke/Coryell County, he had resided in Arlington since 1964. Jerry graduated in 1959 from Gatesville High School and from Texas A&M University School of Engineering in 1963. He worked as a Tooling Engineer at General Motors in Arlington from 1964 to 2002.
Jerry enjoyed creative designs with metal work and was an incredible handyman. He loved helping others and was a longtime deacon in the church. He researched the future of medical technology and was passionate about foreign currency.
Jerry is preceded in death by his parents; three brothers; and four sisters.
Survivors: Beloved wife of 50 years, Karen Hilliard Perkins; sons, Timothy Brent Perkins and Troy Boone Perkins and wife, Heather Lynn; sisters, Anna Kylene Madison and Artis Lynn Myer and husband, Art; sister-in-law, Marcia Perkins; and grandchildren, Casey, Emmilea, Mason, Trent and Travis.
