Jerry was born on August 27, 1951 in Dallas, Texas to Stanley George Dunsmore and Marcella Ione Thomas Dunsmore. He graduated from Duncanville High School in 1969 and attended the University of Texas at Arlington. He met and married his best friend, Leslie, in 1982 after a 7-year courtship. Jerry started All-Pro Fasteners, Inc in 1977 with his friend and business partner, Tom Shelton.
Anyone that knew Jerry described him as compassionate and loving. He enjoyed socializing with friends and family and never met a stranger. Jerry was a lover of all things Christmas.
Jerry enjoyed going fishing. He was a pee wee football and baseball coach for many years. The time he spent coaching was the absolute joy of his life! Jerry played and coached semi-pro football where he mentored and influenced so many young men. He was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan.
Later in life, he bought “Dunbrokus” ranch in Hamilton, Texas which was and is a true sanctuary for the family. Jerry loved the beach and took many vacations with family and friends to Mexico, Jamaica and the Cayman Islands.
He will miss making temporary homes in our backyard for his loved purple martin birds. His greatest joy in later life were the births of his 6 grandkids. He said he felt like God put him on this earth just for that!
He was preceded in death by his father, Stanley G. Dunsmore; mother, Marcella I. Thomas Dunsmore; and brother, Dennis G. Dunsmore.
