Jean Hill

ARLINGTON -- Oma Jean Hill, 88, went to meet her Savior on Wednesday, Dec. 21, 2016. Funeral: 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 28, at Northwest Baptist Church, 1003 Oakwood Lane, Arlington. Interment: Moore Memorial Gardens. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Wade Family Funeral Home, 4140 W Pioneer Pkwy, Arlington. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Junior Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) Jean was born Oct. 23, 1928, in Marshall to BW Carrington and Oma Dee Carrington Smith. After high school and marriage, Jean began working for Texas Instruments as a data processor where she worked until retirement in 1982. Jean married Jack Hill on Valentines Day 1953 in Arlington. They were happily married for 63 years. Their passion led them in 1974 to be one of the co-founders of Trinity Baptist Church of Arlington. Her passion for children in the community moved her to help start a bus ministry that thrives today. She served as a superintendent providing teaching material and curriculum for Sunday School. In 1999, Jean and Jack purchased land with a small house becoming the founders of Northwest Baptist Church. She served as a treasurer, church secretary, Sunday School teacher, active in membership drives, Girls Auxiliary leader and prayer warrior. She was inspirational to all that met her. She might be seen riding a tractor, mowing and landscaping property. Both churches thrive today from her faithful dedication and passion that has inspired the community and people that knew and loved her. Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Meldon Jack Hill; daughter, Glenda Kay Myers; parents, Brodie Carrington and Oma Dee Carrington Smith; brothers, BW Carrington, Tom Carrington, Leon Carrington and Dooley Carrington; grandson, Michael Ray. Survivors: Jean is survived by her son, Danny R Hill (Robin); daughter, Jackie Hill Kasten (Kirby); stepson, Terry Jack Hill Reynolds (Debbie); grandsons, Jerome Hill, Aaron C Hill, Nathan Myers, Ryan Reynolds; granddaughters, Mindy Kay Myers Ray and Kesha Kasten; and great-grandchildren, Tori, Gage, Natalie, Jordan and Avery.
