Jason Edward Whisenant (Wizard), age 45, of Arlington, Texas passed away Monday, May 30, 2022. Jesus opened his arms for Jason after a long and courageous battle with illness.
Jason grew up in Arlington where he attended Martin and Arlington High Schools. Jason a.k.a. Wizard was a talented musician. He was the front man and performed with many bands beginning in Jr. High and continued his music throughout his life. Wizard loved writing music and singing with the band. He had a magnetic stage presence and had fans and friends that came to see him perform from Dallas, the west coast to Atlanta. Jason loved life and never met a stranger. Jason was a hardware man working at Home Depot, Lowes, and Ace Hardware.
He loved fiercely and deeply, and we take comfort in knowing that Jason is now at peace surrounded by light in the presence of God. He is survived by the love of his life Traci Saldivar; Mother, Donna Carney Patterson (Larry “Pop”); Grandmother, Doris Carney “Gurney”; Aunt, Debra Carney; Sister, Jennifer Patterson; Aunt, Kathryn Everest; and numerous nieces, nephew, & cousins; Father, Kirk Whisenant (and family); and many, many wonderful friends.
Preceding him in death was his Grandaddy, Don Carney “Grandoodle”.
Visitation will be held at Wade Funeral Home, 4140 West Pioneer Parkway, Arlington, Texas 76013, Sunday June 5, 2022, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., the funeral service will follow at 3:00 pm in the Chapel. Contributions in memory of Jason can be made to the California Lane Church of Christ, Arlington Texas, or the American Diabetes Association.
